In this class you will learn how to put your sewing machine skills into action whilst making small sewing projects such as zip purses, envelope cushions with button fastenings and reversible tote bags with pockets. This course is for any beginner to the sewing machine and also those who have used a machine before. Other skills gained through making a range of sewing projects will include; an understanding of appropriate seams and hems, how to insert zips, how to follow a pattern and how to add pockets and buttonholes. You can then use these skills to apply to a dressmaking pattern or a range of smaller projects of your choice.

Essential materials: Sewing kit; scissors, threads, pins, hand sewing needles, unpicker, tape measure, tailors chalk. (Rebecca can discuss this with you on the first session) Fabric: for each project made

 Course description:

To learn a range of sewing machine skills including; zips, seams and hems, darts, pockets and buttonholes. You will then move on and choose a small project or dressmaking project of your choice.
