In earlier posts I talked about the Nottinghamshire celebration of learning that took place over the Valentine weekend. What I neglected to do was share the work its self.
The piece to the left is one of two pieces made by the artist Chris Lewis Jones over the course of a three-hour workshop exploring notions of abstract expressionism. Under the banner of “Never mind the Pollocks” Chris filled a St Anns car park with the sounds of Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, opened his paint pots and created a representation of our Union flag reminiscent of Jamie Reid and Jasper Johns. The second piece was less structured in composition and more focused on romance and paint.
We are very pleased and proud to have Chris’ work hung in our office. We have placed it prominently.
